Come enjoy the splendid wooded banks of the Stillwater River and our 209 ft. long portable footbridge that connects the pre-1840’s encampment to the Covington Community Park and the Fort Rowdy Gathering held in conjunction with the encampment. WebCovington was originally named Fort Rowdy because of General “Mad” Anthony Wayne’s rowdy troops. The Stillwater River, a state designated Scenic River, runs through the western portion of the town and is the perfect location for the annual Fort Rowdy Gathering.
